War for the Planet of the Apes, is an upcoming American film of science fiction and action directed by Matt Reeves, written by Mark Bomback, Pierre Boulle and Reeves and starring Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, and Gabriel Chavarria. It will be the sequel to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and the ninth of the Planet of the Apes franchise.The main picture of the film began on October 14, 2015 in Vancouver.3 It is scheduled to premiere at theaters in the United States on July 14, 2017.
After seeing his work at Dawn, 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment signed for Matt Reeves to return as director for the third installment of the series reboot. On January 7, 2014, the studio announced a third installment with Reeves re-directing and co-writing with Bomback. Peter Chernin, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver will be the producers.
Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings) returns to lead the poster in the role of Caesar. The cast will be completed by Judy Greer (Jurassic World), Steve Zahn (Dallas Buyers Club), Woody Harrelson (Welcome to Zombieland), Max Lloyd-Jones (iZombie), Chad Rook (The Flash), Ty Olsson (The Twilight Saga) And Sara Caning (Vampire Chronicles).
